Heart of Art Overview

Recovery Canvas is dedicated to promoting mental wellness through the healing power of visual arts and creativity. Our work is specifically targeted toward adolescents, who are more vulnerable to mental health struggle. 

 

North York General Hospital, located in Toronto, Canada, provides extensive, in-patient health care for youth going through mental health challenges. However, these stays are often incredibly difficult. Young patients may have reduced contact with loved ones, will have their everyday lives disrupted and must cope with the sudden changes and burdens of illness. 

 

As part of our work, we are raising money for art care packages that will be given to in-patient children and youth at North York General Hospital's pediatric clinic. The packages will serve as a form of catharsis and a creative outlet as they go through recovery.

We would be incredibly appreciative if you could contribute a donation to help Recovery Canvas raise funds for art care packages.

  • Cash donations can be made if and only if the donor satisfies the following conditions:

    • The cash donation is made in $CAD currency

Help us make a difference!

Donation Amount

Thank you for your donation! A donation invoice will be sent to your email in 1-5 business days. Please check your email regularly as your participation in the raffle will not be counted until you donate.

Donation Process

1) By filling out the above form, donors will receive an invoice through email (sent from PayPal) to purchase a certain number of raffle tickets.

  • It is important that you check your email and complete the donation in order to be eligible for the raffle. Filling out the form without completing the transaction will not enter a donor in the raffle.

  • Cash donations will be converted from physical to digital capital. 

    • Cash donors will have their tickets for the gift card raffle added through manual data input into the Heart of Art tracking system.

    • Eligibility for cash donations is exclusive. Please read this information for more details.

2) Once the donations deadline (Sunday, December 17th, 2023) arrives, Recovery Canvas will use donations to purchase art materials for the care packages.

  • Packages will include​​

    • 1 5 x 8 inch canvas board​

    • 2 mini paint brushes

    • 1 kraft notebook

    • 1 set of pencil crayons

    • 1 acrylic paint set

    • 1 narwhal sticker

3) Care package boxes will be sent to North York General Hospital's pediatric center between the end of December 2023 to early January 2024. 

  • Donations will be sent once all art care packages have been assembled (we'll be sharing our process on Instagram, please keep an eye out for updates :)

3) Any remaining contributions not spent on art packages due to uneven change will be sent through a one-time donation to the North York General Hospital Foundation. The pediatric center will be chosen as the specific area for the gift designation.

5) All donors are entered into a gift card raffle.

  • Winners will be announced between between the end of December 2023. 

    • There will be 2 winners selected at random.​

    • Winners will be notified through email.

      • It is important that donors enter their email and name accurately on the donations form for ease of contact if they are selected as a winner.

  • The number of times a donor is entered into the raffle depends on how many tickets they purchased through the donations form.

    • If you would like to increase your chances of winning, please choose  the option of greatest value ($8 for 5 raffle ticket entries)​

  • The 2 winners will receive a $60 CAD online gift card of their choice

    • 3 gift card choices (listed below).

Raffle Information

***Please read the following details carefully.

 

The number of times a donor is entered into the raffle depends on 2 factors.

​

1) The value of the donation. These following options for ticket purchases are the only ones allowed in one purchase for ease of donor tracking.

  • $2 donation = 1 raffle ticket entry

  • $4 donation = 2 raffle ticket entries

  • $6 donation = 3 raffle ticket entries

  • $8 donation = 5 raffle ticket entries (1 bonus)

2) If the donor follows Recovery Canvas on Instagram. Following will provide a donor 1 bonus raffle tickets in addition to the tickets they purchased through the donations.
