Salutations!
It’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog, but I’m happy to share that the team has been busy preparing good news. The Heart of Art fundraiser was an official success! Here's a summary of the impact you helped to spread:

In the beginning, Heart of Art was just a small seedling. But with the help of all the tremendous support and generous donations, it sprouted into success. The campaign raised $356, and all funds were used to purchase materials for 24 art kits. Each art kit contained:

1 acrylic paint set
1 mini craft notebook
1 pencil crayon set
2 mini paint brushes
1 narwhal sticker
1 5 x 8-inch canvas board
The art kits serve as a form of catharsis to make hospital stays for adolescents easier, and perhaps spark a new creative hobby. Last January, Eunice and I delivered the art kits to North York General Hospital’s pediatric centre. We were greeted by Esther (child life specialist), the nurses and staff with the warmest of welcomes. Both of us were incredibly touched by their warmth and kindness - it was an honour to meet the faces behind dedication and care.

In addition to the art kits, 4 original acrylic paintings and 2 art prints were donated to the teen lounge room to help spread the message of creative positivity and inspiration. A massive shout-out goes out to our design director Sandy, who created the digital art prints. Your creative genius leaves me in awe every time.
If you’d like an art print, you’re in luck - physical copies of Sandy’s (@karma_pi) floral sunset and blue skies prints will be available at the PYC Purple Market on March 24th (swipe to view her work on the 4th image in the post).
Esther has kindly sent a thank-you letter, and we hope to share its gratitude. We encourage all donors to read the letter, as your generosity could not be more appreciated.

As we move forward, Recovery Canvas hopes to hold a second Heart of Art event in the coming fall/winter. We also plan to start an art tutorial series this summer, so stay tuned for updates!
All the best,
Tiffany & the Recovery Canvas Team
P.S. A special congratulations to Suey and Marco for winning the donor gift card raffle!
P.PS. Another big shout-out to Eunice for taking the time to help deliver all the art boxes. I would have never been able to carry the art kits over multiple flights of stairs and elevator trips on my own. Thank you for having my back (and sanity) 24/7.
