Dear readers,
The Recovery Canvas Team is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Heart of Art fundraiser has exceeded expectations!

After our rebranding session this summer, we decided to extend contributions to artistic and wellness communities through card signing for senior citizens. A total of 51 handwritten cards were sent to Sending Sunshine on August 26th, 2024.
Sending Sunshine will distribute the cards to residents in various senior homes across the world, who often face loneliness. Isolation in long-term care homes became especially common during the COVID-19 pandemic, where public health restrictions limited contact with friends and family. Many residents experienced a significant decrease in their quality of life and the onset of effects such as memory decline, stress and depression. These issues have had long-lasting impacts still felt today.
A big thanks to all our wonderful contributors - we couldn’t have done it without you. We’re so grateful for all the kind messages, doodles and effort you put forth. Here are some examples of the cards we received:
Also, a super big shout-out to our Artistic Director Sandy for being the backbone of this campaign! Thank you for illustrating our new characters, your creativity never fails to amaze us all.

Moving forward, all Recovery Canvas members will begin post-secondary studies this September. We hope to continue building this community as we navigate a new chapter (or minefield) of our academic life. Stay tuned for more art and events!
Many thanks,
Tiffany & the Recovery Canvas Team
